Editorial standards

Useful. Clear. Accountable.

How we approach sources, expertise, corrections, and commercial relationships.

Sources you can follow

Our launch guides link directly to the primary resources used. We show the date a guide was published and when its linked sources were checked. Rules, fees, availability, and programs can change; the linked provider or agency is the place to confirm what applies now.

Expertise is named, not implied

Planning guides are prepared under the Black Health Wealth editorial byline. They have not received clinical, legal, or individualized financial review. If a future article has specialist review, it will name the reviewer and relevant credentials. We do not invent expert approval, interviews, or personal experience.

Reporting and personal experience

Reported features must distinguish evidence from opinion and personal experience. We seek consent for people’s stories, explain relevant context, and avoid presenting one person as representative of all Black readers.

Corrections

Use Contact → Correction to identify the page, the statement at issue, and a source supporting the correction. Material corrections will be described on the affected page. A change to wording alone does not justify implying a new fact-check.

Commercial independence

Sponsored content and paid placements must be labeled where readers encounter them. Commercial support does not buy an editorial endorsement or control over our conclusions. We do not currently present paid provider listings or affiliate product recommendations.
